--for kings and all those in authority,
that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
[1 Timothy 2:1-2]
- He has a habit of using the most unexpected people to fulfil His purposes, even those who do not acknowledge Him. Isaiah describes how Cyrus, the Persian king, worshipper of the idol Marduk, would be ‘anointed’, or equipped, by God to initiate the events which would mark the next phase of Israel’s history [Isaiah 44:28 - 45:1-7].
- People often have a season of influence for a particular task, which wanes when the assignment is complete. We need a Spirit-led sensitivity to the times & seasons, like the men of Issachar [1 Chronicles 12: 23, 32]
