The trees in the local plantation are growing steadily, but while already beautiful in their present state, it will be decades before they reach maturity. Those who planted them had a long term plan in mind, not a quick fix. We live in a culture of instant gratification, & it is so easy to let its values infect our view of Kingdom life: we want everything to happen tomorrow, & feel we're failing if we haven't quick answers to show for our faith. |

and 22 years before becoming King of Israel.
And it takes time to grow the character needed to handle some of His blessings & promises.

The long term plan for those saplings?
To become fully-grown trees of strength, stature and beauty, and a source of shade and sustenance to the plantation wild-life.
And the long-term plan for us?
To be a planting of the Lord for the display
of His splendour. [Isaiah 61:3]

Lay them down before the Lord & be at rest -
He is working everything out for your good.
