The last couple of blogs have been relecting on, & celebrating, this season's produce. But food is not just about meeting our bodies’ nutritional needs, it’s an important aspect of building community. Eating with others has traditionally implied at least a truce, and at best, complete unity. To eat with a person involves a degree of identification.
And if we gather in His name we are also promised His presence. When we eat, we eat in the intimate presence of God; we commune not just with each other but also with the Lord:
I am there in the midst of them.
