Our Christmas ‘to do’ list can also be a way of declaring the Word of God over our immediate world.
Scripture records many such declarations being made through physical things. For example: Rahab’s scarlet cord declared divine protection, and pointed to the covering of Jesus’ blood; the pouring of oil on Aaron and his sons declared their commissioning, and pointed to the anointing of the Spirit and the priestly role of all believers; and of course Jesus used the ordinary middle eastern meal of bread and wine to declare New Covenant over believers.
We can use the trappings of the season as prophetic declarations over our households and neighbourhoods. Later blogs will explore this idea....
