Jesus had one rule for life:
because whatever the Father does the Son also does.
For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does.
I do nothing on My own but speak just what the Father has taught Me.....
whatever I say is just what the Father has told Me to say.
& comes to rest at the lakeside. The figure sitting in it is Jesus.
I am standing on the bank with an armful of heavy, gift-wrapped parcels.
I can hardly see over them.
Jesus beckons me into the boat, I shake my head & indicate the parcels.
'Put them down,' He says.
'I can't,' I answer, 'I've got to do something with them, & they will get dirty & spoiled.'
He repeats His instruction.
I put them down - it's a struggle,
then I reach for His outstretched hand, & step into the boat.
Jesus grins, and starts to pull away from the bank.
'What about the parcels?' I look anxiously back.
'Relax,' He says, 'I've got it covered.'
I watch His strong arms pull at the oars.
The boat noses out of the reeds & glides smoothly onto the lake.
I can see the beautiful landscape of our destination behind Him,
but His face is framed large in the picture.
I am aware of the sturdy boat, His powerful muscles, and the intensity of His gaze.
I remember the parcels and look back.
He gently calls my attention back to His face.
'Trust me,' He says,
'We'll deal with them together.'
