LAST IN SERIES: THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING
continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him,
strengthened in the faith as you were taught,
and overflowing with thankfulness.
Developing thankfulness is hugely important important in our quest for spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing, as the Bible makes it clear it is the key to opening a vast vault of blessing. (See previous posts).
Gratitude is a habit of righteousness developed over time; the purpose of this book, and these posts is to encourage us all to stop and notice that our lives are truly overflowing with grace-gifts - even in the midst of difficulty - and the Lord, the author of all these blessings, deserves our continual thanks and praise.
lET'S swap negativity for delight, grumbles for appreciation, complaint for celebration.
LET'S swap a mind-set and change our lives......
What do you like about the neighbourhood you live in? The friendly people and helpful neighbours; the tree-lined streets or the corner shop; enticing window displays or fresh bakery bagels; children playing on the shared grass, or the view from the window? Every neighbourhood has its good points, though sometimes we may feel we have to search hard to find them. And it often seems as if local attractions are enjoyed more by visitors than by people who live in the area. Take time out several times today to delight in the good points of your locality, and let gratitude rise up in you – and overflow.
PASS IT ON: Who are the lonely people living close to you? Make time to chat to an elderly neighbour – you may be the only person they speak to today!

Alive and Grateful was written for a secular audience with the purpose of encouraging readers to notice, appreciate and think about the source of blessing in their lives; and was written under a pen-name to avoid any confusion with material written by me for Christians.
However, although there are no specifically Christian references in the book, it can be easily used as a devotional by directing our thanks to the Provider of all that is good in our lives.
Alive and Grateful is a 30 day exploration of appreciation, arranged in bite-sized sections. The short length of each section, and the book as a whole, is deliberate; most of us have too much going on in our lives to be able to absorb lengthy explanations, and can easily get lost in a mound of suggestions, ending up putting nothing into practice. This book is intended to provide a workable tool to aid a steady life-style change.
